Management Accountant

Salary: £50,000 to £55,000 + study support

Location: Southwest, London (Office Based)

Job Type: Permanent, Full-Time

Working hours: 9am to 5pm

This is an exciting opportunity for someone looking to take ownership of the management accounts process for a portfolio of entities, with real exposure to senior stakeholders and the opportunity to influence decision-making.

This is an exciting opportunity to start immediately (however they can accommodate a month’s notice period). The interview process is a two-stage process, both face-to-face interviews in the office. This role includes study support, and the CFO actively promotes career growth, professional development, and progression within a supportive and nurturing workplace.

Based in modern offices in the heart of Southwest London, you’ll be part of a fast-paced and high-performing team, working closely with budget holders and senior leadership. This role is ideal for a part-qualified accountant (ACCA/CIMA/ACA) who thrives in a fast-paced environment, enjoys business partnering, and is keen to develop their experience in budgeting, forecasting, and commercial finance.

Key Responsibilities

Preparation of monthly management accounts for a portfolio of entities, including journals, accruals, prepayments, and reconciliations.

Producing detailed variance analysis with clear commentary against budget and forecast.

Ownership of balance sheet reconciliations, investigating and resolving discrepancies.

Supporting cost control processes and reporting for budget holders.

Partnering with budget holders during budgeting and forecasting cycles, ensuring deadlines are met and providing appropriate challenge.

Building strong working relationships across departments to support collaboration and financial understanding.

Identifying opportunities to improve and streamline finance processes.

Supporting ad hoc finance tasks, particularly during acquisitions and integrations.

Contributing to the annual audit process and responding to auditor queries.

Supporting the development and effective use of planning and reporting systems.

Skills & Experience Required

Part-qualified (ACCA/CIMA/ACA) and actively studying.

Previous experience in a Management Accountant or Assistant Management Accountant role within a fast-paced environment.

Strong business partnering skills, with the ability to communicate financial information to non-finance stakeholders.

Excellent attention to detail and ability to meet tight deadlines.

Proactive, organised, and adaptable approach.

Advanced Excel skills (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUPs and Formulas).

Experience with systems such as Sage, Planful, or Microsoft Dynamics (desirable).

Power BI or Power Query experience (advantageous but not essential).
