Finance Manager

Key Responsibilities as the Finance Manager

Financial Reporting & Analysis

Prepare monthly financial reporting schedules, including accruals, prepayments, fixed assets, payroll, and benefits.

Maintain robust balance sheet reconciliation processes.

Manage treasury activities and cash flow forecasting.

Support annual budgeting and quarterly forecasting cycles.

Partner with business leaders to analyse budget versus actual performance.

Contribute to cost management and continuous improvement initiatives.

Deliver meaningful financial analysis to support strategic decision-making.

Payroll

Manage the preparation of monthly payroll for the UK and France, liaising with external payroll providers.

Oversee payroll processes for international offices.

Prepare payroll and benefits journals.

Maintain payroll and benefits balance sheet reconciliations.

Administer UK and US retirement schemes.

Provide payroll reporting and analysis to support profitability monitoring.

Compliance & Tax

Prepare indirect tax returns, including VAT and GST submissions.

Ensure compliance with UK Solicitors' Accounts Rules.

Support treasury management activities across multiple bank accounts.

Assist with the preparation of accounts for various international tax requirements.

Respond to accounting, tax, regulatory, and finance-related queries

About You

The successful candidate will bring

An accounting qualification (fully or part qualified).

Experience working within an international and multi-currency environment.

Previous exposure to legal/professional services sector

Understanding of LLP accounting principles.

Strong analytical and financial reporting skills.

Experience with Practice Management Systems, ideally Aderant.

Advanced Excel capabilities.

Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills.

Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities.

The ability to manage multiple priorities and consistently meet deadlines.
