Assistant Accountant

Our client is a well-established accountancy practice based in North London, providing a comprehensive range of accounting, tax, and business advisory services to a diverse portfolio of clients across multiple sectors.

We are seeking an experienced Assistant Accountant to join their team in a role that offers an excellent benefits package, including private medical insurance and a pension scheme.

Key Responsibilities

Perform bank reconciliations across multiple client accounts, ensuring accuracy and resolving discrepancies in a timely manner.

Maintain bookkeeping records including double-entry bookkeeping, purchase and sales ledger processing, and posting journal entries.

Assist with the preparation of VAT returns and financial reports for a varied client portfolio.

Process invoices, payments, and monitor accounts receivable and payable functions.

Maintain accurate financial records and support the wider accounting team.

Key Requirements

4+ year's experience in an accounting role.

Strong knowledge of accounting software (e.g. QuickBooks, Xero).

Experience with double entry bookkeeping.

Accounting or bookkeeping qualifications (e.g. AAT, ACCA foundation).
