Quality Manager
West Bromwich | £55,000 | Permanent Hours: Monday to Thursday 8:30am to 5:00pm, Friday 8:30am to 5:30pm
Lead Quality Excellence in Manufacturing
An established manufacturing business in West Bromwich is seeking an experienced Quality Manager to report directly to the Board of Directors. This is a key leadership role offering the opportunity to drive quality, health & safety, and environmental standards while influencing business performance and continuous improvement initiatives.
The Role
You will be responsible for maintaining and developing the Quality Management System, ensuring products meet customer expectations, industry standards, and regulatory requirements. Working closely with production, purchasing, and senior leadership teams, you will champion a culture of quality across the business.
Key Responsibilities
Manage and continuously improve the ISO 9001 Quality Management System.
Drive quality improvements across all business functions.
Coordinate quality assurance activities and ensure customer compliance.
Develop and maintain quality procedures, processes, and documentation.
Lead investigations, corrective and preventative actions.
Monitor KPIs and produce management reports.
Support production teams with product quality improvements and new product introductions.
Manage supplier quality performance and relationships.
Ensure compliance with relevant legislation and industry standards.
Lead and develop quality team members.
Support ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 implementation and accreditation.
Manage the company's health & safety systems.
Act as the main customer contact for quality-related matters.
About You
Proven experience as a Quality Manager or senior quality professional within manufacturing.
Strong knowledge of ISO 9001 and quality management systems.
Experience improving quality procedures and processes.
Demonstrable leadership and people management skills.
Strong analytical, reporting, and problem-solving abilities.
Experience managing audits, non-conformances, and corrective actions.
Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.
Desirable
Experience with ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 implementation.
Background in heavy engineering, metals, fabrication, or manufacturing.
Metallurgical knowledge.
NEBOSH or equivalent Health & Safety qualification.
