Part-Time Management Accountant (Fully Remote, Flexible Hours)

Salary: £30,000 – £35,000 FTE (pro rata for 15 hours per week)

About Our Client

We are delighted to be partnering with a well-established healthcare provider delivering NHS and private diagnostic services across England. Operating from community diagnostic and health centres as well as a fleet of mobile units, our client offers ultrasound and echocardiography services to thousands of patients each year.

They are now looking for an experienced Management Accountant to take ownership of their finance function on a part-time, fully flexible basis. You will set your own working pattern across the week, making this ideal for someone balancing other commitments, studying towards a professional qualification, or looking for a portfolio role.

The Role

Preparing monthly management accounts, including P&L, balance sheet reconciliations and variance analysis

Supporting the annual budget process and periodic forecasts

Working with the Senior Leadership Team and non-finance managers to explain performance against budget, highlight variances and identify cost-saving opportunities

Monitoring expenditure, evaluating financial risk and making recommendations

Developing and maintaining financial systems, internal controls and accounting procedures

Owning finance policies and recommending improvements where needed

Coordinating payroll through a third-party provider

Ensuring payments to employees, suppliers, HMRC and pension providers are prepared in good time for Director approval

Supporting audits, including financial, regulatory (CQC), accreditation and internal audits

Ensuring GDPR compliance within finance and contributing to anti-money laundering and anti-bribery policies

Reporting on financial position, business activity and risk to regulatory bodies as required

Line managing a Finance Coordinator and supporting with contractual data reporting

About You

AAT Level 4 qualified as a minimum; ideally studying towards CIMA, ACCA or ICAEW

3–5 years' experience in a management accounts role

Confident producing accurate management accounts to deadline, including journals, accruals and prepayments

Comfortable working independently with minimal oversight while building strong relationships across the business

A clear communicator who can explain financial information to non-finance colleagues

Commercially minded, proactive and keen to add value beyond the numbers
