Management Accountant

I'm partnering with a well known brand on this Management Accountant appointment at their Birmingham head office. It's a business with real heritage, a loyal customer base and a strong presence across the UK. Right now they're modernising their finance function, and they want someone who will bring fresh ideas and help shape what comes next, not just keep the wheels turning.

Your ideas will be heard. The team actively wants someone to challenge existing processes, simplify what's clunky and make better use of systems and data. You'll see the impact of your work.

A role that grows with you. This isn't a static position. As the function develops, so will your responsibilities, giving you a clear route to broaden your experience and step up.

Support to qualify. Study support is on offer, so you can progress your CIMA or ACCA qualification while building broad, hands on experience.

Pace and variety. A consumer facing business moves quickly, which means your analysis genuinely matters and no two months look the same.

What you'll be doing

Owning the monthly management accounts and getting under the skin of the numbers to explain what's really driving performance

Keeping a tight grip on the balance sheet and investigating anything that doesn't look right

Helping shape management information and reporting as the business evolves

Taking ownership of fixed assets, company card and expenses, and utilities, including supporting contract renewals

Getting involved in VAT, statutory submissions and the external audit

Who I'd love to speak to

Part qualified or studying towards CIMA or ACCA, or qualified by experience with a solid management accounting background

Someone with hands on experience of month end, management accounts and balance sheet reconciliations

Strong Excel skills and a natural curiosity about the story behind the numbers

A practical, proactive person who enjoys making things work better

Comfortable talking to finance and non finance colleagues alike
