Management Accountant

We are looking for an experienced Management Accountant to join an ambitious and growing business.

This is a varied, hands-on role covering management accounts, financial analysis and balance sheet control, alongside oversight of wider day-to-day finance processes.

You'll be someone who enjoys getting behind the numbers, improving processes and playing an active role within the wider finance function.

This is an office-based role, working five days per week on site.

Management Accountant Responsibilities

Prepare monthly management accounts and ensure accurate, timely financial reporting.

Complete month-end reconciliations, supporting schedules and financial analysis.

Review performance against expectations, investigating variances and trends and liaising with teams across the business.

Maintain accurate balance sheet reconciliations and ensure appropriate financial controls are in place.

Produce and develop management information and reporting to support business decision-making.

Provide additional financial analysis and reporting to the Finance team and wider business when required.

Manage fixed assets, ensuring records remain accurate and up to date.

Oversee employee expenses and company card transactions, ensuring they are processed correctly and within agreed controls.

Support the management of business costs and supplier-related financial processes.

Assist with VAT, statutory reporting and other finance submissions as required.

Support the year-end and external audit process, preparing information and responding to auditor queries.

Contribute to ongoing improvements across finance systems, reporting and processes.

Management Accountant Skills and Experience

Experience preparing or supporting the production of monthly management accounts.

Strong understanding of balance sheet reconciliations and financial controls.

Good analytical skills with the ability to investigate variances, identify issues and interpret financial information.

Strong Excel skills with excellent accuracy and attention to detail.

Organised and able to manage competing priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Proactive, hands-on approach with a willingness to take ownership of both accounting and wider finance processes.

A continuous improvement mindset, with an interest in making processes more efficient.

Confident communicating with both finance and non-finance colleagues.

Ideally CIMA, ACCA or ACA qualified/part-qualified, although relevant experience will also be considered.
