Manufacturing Accountant

Location: Warrington (Hybrid Working - 3 days office / 2 days home) Salary: Up to £35,000 Type: Permanent, Full-Time

The Opportunity

Hays Accountancy & Finance are partnering with an established international manufacturing organisation to recruit a Part-Qualified Manufacturing Accountant. This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious finance professional looking to develop their management, accounting and business partnering skills within a fast-paced operational environment. This role offers a broad remit, combining management accounting, financial analysis, operational finance and stakeholder engagement, whilst providing exposure to both UK and international finance teams. The successful candidate will become a key finance contact for a manufacturing operation, helping drive performance through insightful reporting, analysis and financial support.

Key Responsibilities

Act as Finance Business Partner to a key manufacturing operation.

Produce weekly and monthly financial reporting and analysis.

Complete variance analysis and provide meaningful commentary on performance.

Monitor and analyse cost centre expenditure.

Support budgeting, forecasting and planning activities.

Analyse stock and inventory performance.

Assist with capital expenditure and investment reporting.

Work closely with operational stakeholders to drive financial understanding and improve business performance.

Support management accounts preparation and reporting requirements.

Collaborate with UK and international finance colleagues to meet reporting deadlines and business objectives.

About You The successful candidate will be:

Part-qualified ACCA or CIMA (or actively studying towards qualification).

Experienced within a management accounting, commercial finance or manufacturing finance environment.

Highly analytical with strong attention to detail.

Advanced in Excel, including Pivot Tables and Lookup functions.

Comfortable managing large volumes of data and producing insightful analysis.

A strong communicator who can build relationships across different teams and levels of the organisation.

Confident, resilient and capable of positively challenging stakeholders where required.

Self-motivated and comfortable working independently whilst being part of a wider finance team.

Working Pattern & Travel This is a hybrid role offering three days per week in the Warrington office and two days working from home.Candidates must also be comfortable travelling to Scotland on a regular basis. During the initial onboarding period, travel is expected to be several times per month to build relationships with key operational stakeholders and gain a thorough understanding of the manufacturing environment. Once established in the position, travel will reduce to approximately one visit per month, although additional visits may occasionally be required to support business needs.

Systems

Experience with Business Central (Navision) would be advantageous.

Strong Excel skills are essential.
