Our client, an established engineering consultancy, is seeking an experienced HR Manager to provide comprehensive HR cover on a fixed-term basis. This is a broad, hands-on role supporting the full employee lifecycle and working independently as the organisation's primary HR resource. An early start is preferred to allow for a thorough handover, with the assignment expected to continue for approximately 12 months and the potential for an extension if required. Key Responsibilities:
Managing recruitment, onboarding and employee lifecycle processes
Providing guidance on employee relations, performance reviews and probationary periods
Administering annual leave, sickness absence, timesheets and expenses
Maintaining accurate employee records and managing contract changes
Supporting annual salary and bonus review processes
Preparing and collating payroll information, including overtime, salary changes, address updates and pro-rata salary details
Supporting UK right-to-work, employment status and immigration-related matters
Working closely with finance and wider teams to ensure accurate and timely HR administration
Solid experience in a generalist HR role, ideally gained within a standalone or autonomous position
Strong knowledge of recruitment, onboarding, employee relations and HR administration
Understanding of UK employment practices, right-to-work requirements and payroll processes
Proactive, self-sufficient and confident working independently
Excellent organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities
Strong attention to detail when handling confidential employee and payroll information
Clear written and verbal communication skills
Ability to collaborate effectively with finance, management and wider business teams
Fixed-term assignment expected to run for approximately 12 months
Earlier commencement is preferred to support a comprehensive handover
The role will support a stable recruitment programme, with several potential new starters during the assignment
Engineering or consultancy experience is advantageous but not essential, as support will be available from the wider team
Both fixed-term and contract working arrangements are being considered
If you are a proactive HR generalist seeking a varied fixed-term HR Manager opportunity within an engineering consultancy, apply now to be considered.
