Financial Accountant

A well-established consumer retail business in Bingley is looking to appoint a Part or Newly Qualified Financial Accountant as it continues to strengthen its finance team.

This role will suit an ACCA, ACA or CIMA studier who has developed a solid grounding in financial accounting and wants broader exposure within a complex, multi-channel business.

Working closely with the wider finance team, you will support accurate month-end reporting, maintain strong financial controls and contribute to statutory and regulatory reporting requirements.

The Role

Prepare and post month-end journals, accruals and prepayments.

Complete balance sheet reconciliations and investigate outstanding items.

Support the production of monthly management and financial accounts.

Assist with statutory accounts and year-end audit requirements.

Prepare VAT returns and other regulatory submissions.

Maintain fixed-asset records and support capital expenditure reporting.

Work with internal stakeholders to resolve accounting queries.

Identify opportunities to improve controls, reporting and finance processes.

Support wider finance projects and provide cover across the team when required.

About You

Actively studying toward ACCA, ACA or CIMA or recently qualified

Experience within a financial accounting, management accounting or assistant accountant role.

Good understanding of month-end processes and balance sheet controls.

Comfortable working with large volumes of financial data.

Strong Excel skills and confidence learning new systems.

Accurate, organised and able to meet reporting deadlines.

Clear communicator who can work effectively across finance and the wider business.
