Interim Financial Accountant

HW Finance are delighted to be supporting a large organisation with the recruitment of an Interim Financial Accountant. This is an excellent opportunity to join a high-performing, close-knit finance team during a period of continued growth and development.

Joining the business to cover a period of maternity leave, you will play a key role in supporting the finance function over a 13-month fixed-term contract. The role is predominantly remote, with occasional travel to the office for board meetings, training sessions and key business events.

The position offers a salary of £65,000 - £75,000 DOE, plus bonus and a benefits package.

We are seeking a qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA) who can take ownership of a broad technical accounting remit, including statutory reporting, external audit management, IFRS reporting, fixed asset accounting, tax compliance and insurance-related activities.

Duties involve

Leading and coordinating internal audit requests.

Managing the external audit process and acting as the key point of contact for auditors.

Supporting the wider business on contractual and governance matters from a statutory accounting perspective.

Acting as a key contact to ensure compliance with tax and statutory reporting requirements.

Taking responsibility for annual statutory accounts preparation and associated compliance obligations.

Managing relationships with insurance providers and overseeing insurance-related activities.

Participating in central finance meetings and supporting the wider finance function with ad hoc projects.

Providing management support and cover across finance teams when required.

This role will suit someone who can be available to start a new role between Mid-August to Early-September 2026.
