The Opportunity

An established international organisation is seeking a Financial Accountant to join its finance team on a 12-month fixed-term contract. This is an excellent opportunity for a technically strong accountant to join a collaborative finance function supporting multiple business entities across the UK.

You'll play a key role in financial reporting, statutory accounts preparation, tax compliance, balance sheet integrity and external audit coordination, whilst working closely with finance and operational stakeholders. Key Responsibilities

Produce accurate month-end journals, reconciliations and supporting schedules.

Take ownership of balance sheet reconciliations, investigating and resolving reconciling items.

Support the preparation of monthly management and financial reporting.

Prepare statutory financial statements in accordance with UK accounting standards.

Coordinate information requests from external auditors and ensure audit deadlines are achieved.

Prepare and submit VAT returns, investigating and resolving any discrepancies.

Support quarterly tax reporting and corporation tax calculations.

Assist with group reporting requirements and consolidation submissions.

Review and approve finance-related payment runs in line with internal controls.

Work collaboratively with finance business partners and wider business teams to improve reporting processes and controls.

Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives across the finance function.

About You You'll be a proactive finance professional who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment and has a strong eye for detail.

We're looking for someone with

ACA, ACCA or CIMA

Experience in financial accounting, statutory reporting or external audit.

Strong understanding of UK GAAP (FRS102); IFRS exposure is advantageous.

Experience preparing VAT returns and supporting tax reporting.

Strong balance sheet reconciliation and month-end reporting experience.

Advanced Excel skills with the ability to analyse and interpret financial data.

Excellent organisational skills and the ability to manage competing deadlines.

Strong communication skills and the confidence to liaise with internal and external stakeholders.

ERP experience is beneficial but not essential.
