Location: London (Hybrid)

Contract: Interim / Fixed-Term

Salary: £400-£450/day (Umbrella Co)

Join a leading professional services consultancy in a pivotal role as an Interim Finance Manager. This hands-on leadership position is perfect for a qualified accountant who thrives in managing financial control, reporting, process improvement, and team leadership within a dynamic commercial environment.

Day-to-day of the role

Lead the month-end close process and produce monthly management accounts.

Manage balance sheet reconciliations, fixed assets, revenue recognition, accruals, and prepayments.

Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning activities.

Oversee invoicing, work-in-progress reviews, and project finance controls.

Monitor cash flow, supplier payments, and credit control activities.

Ensure compliance with VAT, payroll, pension, and statutory reporting requirements.

Support audit processes and maintain strong internal controls.

Drive finance system enhancements and continuous process improvements.

Manage and develop a small finance team while partnering with operational stakeholders across the business.

Required Skills & Qualifications

A recognised accounting qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent).

Previous experience in a Finance Manager or Management Accountant position.

Strong financial reporting and month-end management experience.

Experience within professional services, consultancy, or project-based organisations.

A proven track record of improving processes and financial controls.

Experience managing or mentoring finance team members.

Advanced Excel and financial systems skills.

Excellent stakeholder management and communication abilities.

Desirable: Experience with ERP systems,

Exposure to employee-owned, consultancies or professional services businesses.
