Location: Castleford Salary: Up to £35,000 + Study Support

The Opportunity

Elevation Accountancy & Finance are currently recruiting for an Assistant Accountant to join a growing finance team based in Castleford.

This is a great opportunity for an experienced finance professional looking to take the next step in their career, with the chance to gain further exposure to management accounts, VAT, reconciliations and year-end processes.

The Role

As an Assistant Accountant, you will support the wider finance function across a range of accounting duties, including:

Completing bank and balance sheet reconciliations

Reviewing trial balances through to management account level

Assisting with the preparation of monthly management accounts

Preparing and posting journals

Supporting the preparation of VAT returns

Providing support across purchase and sales ledger when required

Producing ad-hoc reports and providing support to the Head of Finance and Company Accountant

Assisting with the year-end audit process

About You

We are looking for an Assistant Accountant with

AAT Level 3 or above

At least 3 years' experience within an accounts role

Strong Excel skills, ideally at an advanced level

Microsoft Dynamics or Business Central experience would be desirable

Payroll knowledge would be advantageous

A strong attention to detail and the ability to work independently
