Job Description: Area Sales Manager
This is a varied, challenging and fascinating role focused on the sale of high performance battery-powered garden equipment to and through a network of specialist dealers. Key responsibilities will include:
Extensive travel throughout your territory to visit all established and potential customers on a regular basis.
Agree and execute a strategy to deliver sales and distribution targets, adapting your approach to meet the needs of each customer.
Negotiate all commercial terms with the guidance of the Country Manager.
Sales prospecting of new dealers and large commercial end-users.
Liaison with Demonstrators to support end-user sales appointments.
Drive high standards into dealers in areas of product knowledge, showroom displays and branding.
Achieve expert level product knowledge through internal training.
A global player in battery-powered garden and power tool products with highly successful product launches in Europe, the US and Canada. Through product innovation the company is driving the transition from petrol to battery power and in intelligent robotic mowers. The Uk business is young but successful and growing rapidly.
Candidate Profile: Area Sales Manager
This is an important appointment in a UK team that has ambition to achieve rapid sales growth. Suitable candidates need to demonstrate the market knowledge, energy and tenacity to fully achieve the potential of the role. Additional requirements are:
Previous sales experience in the outdoor power industry is essential, either from an equipment manufacturer, distributor or from a dealer.
You will bring an understanding of the needs of dealers and end-users in this market.
A home location in the North of England and preparedness to travel extensively on business.
Able to build strong relationships with customers at all levels.
Able to lead and coordinate Demonstrators.
Sufficient sales experience, commercial acumen and communication skill to inspire customers to back the brand.
Hands-on and able to train, educate and demonstrate.
Energetic, resilient and gregarious character with a positive outlook.
Negotiable basic salary c£48,000 - £50,000 plus performance based bonus, company vehicle, 5% pension contribution, 25 days holiday, mobile, laptop, full training, product discounts.
