Your new company
Based in South Lanarkshire, our client is looking to recruit a Trainee Accountant to join their team on a permanent basis. This is a fantastic opportunity for a recent graduate or finance professional with an HNC/HND qualification to join a supportive finance team where you will gain exposure to all aspects of accounting whilst working towards a professional qualification. This role offers an excellent platform to develop your skills across financial accounting, management accounting, costing, inventory management, budgeting and financial reporting within a fast-paced commercial environment. This is an office-based role and the hours of work are Monday to Thursday: 08:45-16:45 Friday: 08:45-16:00. The offices can be accessed by public transport and there is also on-site parking.
Your New Role
As a Trainee Accountant, you will support the wider finance team with a range of accounting and reporting activities, including:
Assisting with day-to-day accounting transactions and maintaining accurate financial records
Processing supplier invoices, payments and customer receipts
Supporting bank reconciliations and month-end accounting activities
Assisting with the monitoring and analysis of production and manufacturing costs
Preparing product costings and inventory valuation reports
Participating in stock counts and inventory reconciliations
Supporting the production of management accounts and financial reporting
Assisting with budgeting, forecasting and audit processes
Ensuring compliance with financial policies and procedures
Collaborating with colleagues across multiple departments
What You'll Need to Succeed
HNC, HND or Degree qualification in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline
Strong numerical and analytical skills
Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
Good communication skills with the ability to build effective working relationships
A proactive attitude and genuine desire to develop a long-term career within finance
Strong Microsoft Excel skills would be advantageous
