Job Title: Service Charge Accountant

Location: Birmingham

Salary: £32,000 – £36,000 per annum (Depending on Experience)

Hours: : Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM – 5:30 PM

Key Responsibilities

Assist Property Managers with the preparation, review, and management of annual service charge budgets.

Prepare year-end service charge accounts, ensuring accurate reporting of expenditure and timely distribution to leaseholders.

Carry out regular bank, supplier, and balance sheet reconciliations.

Monitor service charge arrears, issue demands, and proactively manage debt recovery in line with company procedures.

Produce accurate monthly and quarterly management reports, highlighting budget variances.

Act as the main point of contact for leaseholders, clients, and auditors regarding service charge financial queries.

Requirements

3–4 years' experience in a service charge accounting role within the property sector.

Strong understanding of service charge accounting, RICS guidelines, and relevant landlord and tenant legislation.

Excellent attention to detail with the ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Strong verbal and written communication skills with a professional approach to client relationships and credit control.

Proficient in Microsoft Excel and property management software such as Qube, Tramps, Yardi, or similar.
