Role: Senior Business Analyst
Salary: £80,000-£100,000 DoE (+ discretionary annual bonus of up to 7.5%)
Location: Hybrid - London 2 days per week (Farringdon)
Our client, an innovative technology business operating within the healthcare and life sciences sector, is looking for an experienced Business Analyst to join its growing team.
The successful candidate will play a key role in shaping solutions that meet business needs, working closely with senior stakeholders, Developers, Testers and wider cross-functional teams throughout the full delivery lifecycle.
This isn't a traditional Business Analyst role. Alongside leading requirements gathering and solution design, you'll coordinate Agile ceremonies, lead a small team of Developers and help improve standards and ways of working across the wider delivery function. You'll also work closely with senior leadership to develop prototypes that help bring requirements to life, giving Developers and Testers a much clearer understanding of how proposed solutions should look and operate.
This role would suit someone who enjoys getting into the detail of complex technical problems and wants the opportunity to have a genuine influence over both solutions and delivery practices.
Business Analysis & Solution Design
Lead business analysis activities across projects and initiatives
Elicit, analyse and challenge business requirements to uncover underlying business needs
Produce clear requirements, user stories, acceptance criteria and process flows
Use Gherkin-style acceptance criteria where appropriate
Develop solution designs and supporting analysis documentation
Agile Delivery & Team Leadership
Lead a small sub-team of Developers, providing direction and supporting delivery
Coordinate Agile ceremonies including backlog refinement, sprint planning, stand-ups, reviews and retrospectives
Support Developers and Testers with clear guidance around how solutions should operate
Identify risks, dependencies and assumptions early and proactively address them
Technical Analysis
Work with technical teams to assess solution options and technical dependencies
Apply knowledge of APIs, system integrations and client-side web applications
Develop a strong understanding of data models and how data supports business processes
Produce basic UML diagrams and other analysis artefacts
Use tools such as Azure DevOps and Claude Code to support analysis, solution exploration and delivery
Stakeholder Management & Continuous Improvement
Facilitate workshops and meetings with technical and non-technical stakeholders
Build strong relationships across all levels of the organisation
Challenge requirements constructively to ensure solutions align with business objectives
Drive continuous improvement across standards, processes and team efficiency
Essential Experience
Proven experience as a Business Analyst, operating at a senior or lead level
Strong understanding of Agile principles and experience coordinating Agile ceremonies
Experience leading or coordinating a small team or sub-team
Experience working in a hands on technical role (development / scripting etc.)
Experience working with senior stakeholders to shape solutions and improve requirements
Good working knowledge of APIs and system integrations
Understanding of client-facing web applications and how front-end functionality supports business processes
Experience creating basic UML diagrams and structured analysis models
Strong understanding of data models and data mapping
Excellent communication, analytical and problem-solving skills
A proactive approach to continuous improvement and delivery quality
