A well-established legal services organisation is seeking a technically strong remortgage specialist to help elevate expertise across its conveyancing function. This position focuses on strengthening knowledge, improving consistency, and supporting colleagues through structured learning and guidance.
This opportunity suits someone who enjoys developing others, sharing insight, and influencing standards across a team, without direct people management responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities
Deliver engaging and practical technical training to colleagues at all levels, from new starters to experienced fee earners.
Create and refine training resources in line with evolving business needs, lender expectations, and regulatory requirements.
Act as a go-to technical expert across a wide range of remortgage matters, including: Corporate and company-linked transactions, Shared ownership staircasing, Sharia-compliant home finance, Transfers of equity, Leasehold and more complex title issues, Unregistered land cases
Build and maintain a structured skills framework to track capability, highlight development areas, and support progression.
Use audit findings, file reviews, and operational data to identify knowledge gaps and shape training priorities.
Partner with teams across operations, risk, compliance, and quality to ensure alignment with best practice and regulatory standards.
Support targeted training interventions where recurring issues or trends are identified.
Stay current with changes in legislation, lender criteria, and industry guidance, incorporating updates into learning materials.
Contribute to initiatives aimed at improving efficiency, quality, and client outcomes.
About You
Solid background in residential remortgage conveyancing with strong technical knowledge.
Comfortable handling more complex transaction types, including corporate work and specialist mortgage products.
Experience in training, mentoring, or coaching within a legal or property setting.
Good understanding of lender expectations, compliance requirements, and risk considerations.
Able to communicate technical concepts in a clear, practical, and accessible way.
Well organised, proactive, and able to manage competing priorities effectively.
Open to hybrid working arrangements across two northern office locations.
