MRD Recruitment is delighted to be partnering a high-profile Scottish organisation with a strong heritage and an ambitious future, operating across major events, hospitality, visitor experiences and a large-scale events venue.
We're looking for an experienced Procurement & Contracts Manager, based in Newbridge, Edinburgh to lead procurement activity across the organisation, strengthen commercial capability and deliver value across a diverse range of spend categories. Reporting to the Finance Director, we are looking for a hands-on and influential Procurement & Contracts Manager who will have genuine exposure to senior stakeholders, strategic projects and major supplier relationships.
Key Responsibilities for the Procurement & Contracts Manager, based in Newbridge, Edinburgh;
Develop and manage the organisation's procurement plan.
Lead competitive tenders, contract renewals and commercial negotiations.
Develop sourcing strategies based on value, risk, complexity and strategic importance.
Support major projects, programmes and significant acquisitions.
Analyse spend, markets and suppliers to identify savings and efficiency opportunities
Manage and develop the organisation's contract portfolio.
Establish effective contract renewal and re-procurement planning.
Develop Supplier Relationship Management across key suppliers.
Introduce appropriate KPIs, performance reviews and improvement plans.
Work with suppliers to improve performance, innovation and value.
Maintain and develop the supply and commercial risk register.
Ensure procurement activity meets relevant policies, legislation and governance requirements.
Develop and improve procurement policies, processes, templates and guidance.
Provide appropriate reporting and escalation of significant risks.
Act as a trusted procurement adviser across the organisation.
Work closely with Finance and senior leadership on commercial decisions.
Support business cases, commercial strategies, negotiations and major contracts.
Provide analysis, market intelligence and recommendations to support decision-making.
You will have the opportunity to shape how procurement operates across a complex and diverse organisation working closely with senior decision makers and supporting projects that have a genuine impact on the wider business. The variety is a major attraction from strategic supplier negotiations and contract reviews to major operational projects and commercial initiatives.
We're looking for a commercially minded procurement professional with strong stakeholder skills and the confidence to operate at senior level.
MCIPS, working towards MCIPS, or significant equivalent procurement experience.
Around 5-7 years' procurement experience across a diverse range of goods and services.
Strong competitive tendering and complex procurement experience.
Commercial negotiation and contract renewal experience.
Contract management and Supplier Relationship Management experience.
An understanding of supply and commercial risk.
Strong communication, influencing and stakeholder management skills.
Good analytical and IT skills, with excellent attention to detail.
The ability to manage multiple projects and competing priorities.
Strong professional judgement, integrity and a proactive approach to improvement.
Desirable
Experience within events, hospitality, visitor attraction, leisure, retail, or a similarly diverse commercial environment would be advantageous, as would experience delivering strategic projects or organisational change.
