An established and highly regarded independent co-educational day and boarding school in Surrey is looking for an experienced HR Officer to join its friendly HR team. The role

Reporting to the Director of HR, you'll deliver a proactive, generalist HR service to teaching and professional services staff. You'll also work closely with a wider central HR function and partner HR teams across associated schools.

Your responsibilities will include

Safeguarding compliance- Owning the Single Central

Employee relations: Advising managers and staff on policy and best practice

Recruitment and on/off boarding: Overseeing professional staff recruitment

Payroll and reward: Administering weekly, monthly and salaried

Policies and systems: Coordinating the professional services appraisal process, reviewing policies each year, and maintaining HR records

Learning and development

The idea candidate-

You're CIPD qualified to intermediate level (or have equivalent experience)

You have solid generalist HR experience within the school and education sector

You're confident advising managers on employee relations, absence management, pay and contractual changes.

You have hands-on payroll administration experience

You've managed recruitment campaigns from advert through to on-boarding.

You have excellent communication and organisation skills

You have strong experience in MS Office (especially Excel) and HR systems.
