Financial Crime Analyst (4month temp initially) Edinburgh (hybrid) Start Date August 2026

Meraki Talent’s global financial services client, is actively looking for a team of Financial Crime Screening Analysts to work on a 4 month project, to help with a backlog of work. An entry-level role within the Financial Crime team, this team will be reviewing and resolving alerts generated by screening systems across a variety of different entities. The team supports the financial crime efforts of the business, and would be a fantastic opportunity for someone with experience working within an administrative, operational or transactional capacity within a financial or professional services business, or perhaps a quantitative graduate looking for a 4 month contract to gain some experience.

Responsibilities of the Financial Crime Screening Analysts

Review alerts from AML sanctions and PEP systems

Analyse information from systems and data sources to support alerts

Record investigations outcomes across screening tools

Ensure alert reviews are completed within the SLA

Escalate matches and adverse findings, particularly those that are higher-risk

Background of the Financial Crime Screening Analysts

Experience working within an administrative, operational or transactional capacity within a financial or professional services business

A quantitative graduate looking for a 4 month contract to gain some experience

Strong investigation skills

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

An interest in financial crime, risk, compliance or financial services

Happy to be based in the Edinburgh office on a hybrid basic each week for the duration of the contract
