Financial Accountant

An exciting opportunity with a global organisation in London is looking for a Financial Accountant to join their UK Finance team on a contract basis.

Based in London

4 days a week in the office

6 months initially

Start date: 11 May 2026

Up to £400pd Inside Ir35

The Job As the Financial Accountant, your responsibilities will include:

Supporting the annual external audit and liaising with auditors

Leading the preparation of UK statutory accounts and Group consolidated financial statements

Ensuring compliance with accounting standards and internal finance policies

Preparing and reviewing monthly reports, including variance analysis

Supporting month end close and reporting activities

Reviewing balance sheets, cashflows and bank reconciliations

Preparing tax computations and working with external tax advisors

Acting as a key link between Controlling, FP&A and wider business stakeholders

Responding to ad hoc finance queries and delivering timely analysis

Supporting internal controls and finance governance

Assisting with ad hoc projects, system implementations and continuous improvement initiatives

You

ACA or ACCA qualified (or equivalent)

At least 3 years post qualification experience

Big 4 background preferred

Strong experience preparing or auditing statutory financial statements

Excellent knowledge of accounting principles and regulations

Highly analytical with strong attention to detail

Confident using accounting systems and Microsoft Excel

Strong communication skills and ability to work cross functionally

Comfortable working independently, under pressure and to deadlines
