Job Description
The role of Financial Accountant within business banking and lending requires strong technical accounting skills (ideally IFRS or GAAP, statutory reporting-led) to manage financial reporting and very high-level regulatory returns. This position is a fantastic opportunity for those looking to contribute to the success of an established organisation within the accounting and finance department whilst being given ample opportunity to develop FPnA skills too.

Description
WOULD SUIT
Someone from Big 4 Audit or Top 60 Practice with Bank/Lender Audits;
OR someone already in-house at a lender thinking about their first or second step.
Prepare accurate and timely financial statements in compliance with statutory requirements (ifrs, gaap).
High-level regulatory returns (template driven so no expertise needed).
Oversee month-end and year-end closing processes, ensuring all reconciliations are completed.
Support internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation and explanations.
Maintain and update financial policies and procedures to ensure compliance with regulations.
Collaborate with other departments to provide financial insights and analysis for decision-making.
Monitor and report on financial performance, identifying trends and variances for management review.
Assist in budgeting and forecasting processes to support strategic planning activities.
Ensure accuracy and completeness of financial records through effective controls and checks.
City of London location - 4 days in the office

A successful Financial Accountant should have
A recognised accounting qualification such as ACA, ACCA, or CIMA.
Strong knowledge of financial reporting standards.
Proficiency in accounting software and advanced Excel skills.
Attention to detail and the ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines.
Excellent organisational and problem-solving abilities.
City of London location - 4 days in the office
Job Offer
Competitive salary ranging from £60,000 to £65,000 per annum.
Permanent position within Big 4 Audit or Top 60 Practice having audited Banks/Lenders; or from in-house already at a lender.
