Interim Accountant (Charity)

Salford | Immediate Start | 6-Month Contract

£20-24 per hour

Looking to make a meaningful impact in the charity sector and hit the ground running immediately?

We’re working with a well-respected organisation based in Salford who need an experienced Accountant to join them on a temporary 6-month contract. This is a hands-on role at the heart of the finance function, supporting key decision-making and ensuring financial stability during a critical period.

Location: Salford (office-based) Hours: Monday–Friday, 9am–5pm Start: ASAP (immediate availability essential)

What you’ll be doing

You’ll take ownership of core finance activities, including

Producing monthly management accounts, forecasts & cash flow reporting

Supporting budget planning alongside senior stakeholders

Preparing annual accounts and liaising with auditors

Ensuring robust financial controls, system integrity & record-keeping

Overseeing bank reconciliations, payments and cash flow management

Supporting procurement activities and financial governance

Attending and contributing to key committees and meetings

What we’re looking for

Qualified accountant OR qualified by experience (QBE)

Strong background in a finance function (charity preferred)

Experience with management accounts, budgeting & audits

Confident managing financial systems and banking arrangements

Highly organised, methodical, and accurate

Able to communicate financial information clearly to non-finance stakeholders

Desirable

Experience in the charity sector

Familiarity with Sage or similar accounting systems
