Finance Manager

This Financial Controller role will take ownership of the technical finance function, including tax, VAT, audit and financial controls, while managing and developing a small finance team. Acting as number two to the Head of Finance, you'll also gain commercial exposure and play a key role in supporting a fast-growing business.

Description

Take ownership of tax, VAT, audit and statutory compliance across the business.

Lead the year-end audit process, ensuring controls and documentation are robust.

Manage and develop a small finance team, supporting their progression and performance.

Oversee the quality and accuracy of management and financial reporting.

Drive process improvements, efficiencies and stronger financial controls.

Work closely with the Head of Finance as their number two, supporting commercial projects and key business decisions.

Profile

Qualified accountant with strong technical accounting skills.

Strong experience of tax, VAT and audit, able to take ownership from day one.

Proactive, forward-thinking and commercially minded, with the confidence to use initiative.

Comfortable working within a fast-paced, growing SME environment.

Ideally some people management or mentoring experience, with the ability to develop a small finance team.

A confident communicator who can work closely with senior stakeholders and contribute to wider business decisions.

Job Offer

Salary up to £60,000, dependent on the level of experience
