Greenwellgleeson are recruiting for a Finance Manager to join a growing SME business. This is a brand new role for the company due to the growth they have experienced.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare monthly management accounts, including P&L, balance sheet and variance analysis against budgets and forecasts.
Manage cash flow forecasting, monitoring performance and highlighting potential risks.
Oversee month-end and year-end processes, including journals, accruals, prepayments and balance sheet reconciliations.
Process monthly payroll and ensure accurate and timely submission of statutory reporting.
Prepare and submit the Group VAT return.
Support budgeting and forecasting, working closely with budget holders to understand performance and identify areas for improvement.
Develop and maintain financial and operational KPIs, providing clear commercial insight to non-finance stakeholders.
Drive improvements across finance processes, reporting and automation.
Support the statutory audit process and liaise with external auditors.
Manage intercompany transactions and reconciliations.
Produce ad hoc analysis and reporting
Ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards, tax requirements and internal controls.
Skills, Requirements, Experience
Previous experience within a management accounting or finance management role, including cash flow management.
Strong knowledge of accounting systems and advanced Excel, including pivot tables, lookups and financial modelling.
Experience managing or supervising a small team.
Strong analytical and commercial skills, with the ability to communicate financial information effectively to non-finance stakeholders.
Good understanding of financial controls, month-end processes and balance sheet reconciliations.
ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualified
Highly organised with excellent attention to detail.
Able to prioritise effectively and manage multiple deadlines.
Commercially minded with a proactive approach to problem-solving and continuous improvement.
