Front Office-facing Credit Risk role supporting one of the market's leading precious and base metals trading businesses. You will be responsible for assessing counterparty creditworthiness, monitoring exposures and partnering closely with traders to support profitable growth across global metals markets while maintaining a robust risk framework.

Commodities trading firm specialising in physical and derivative trading across precious metals, base metals, energy and bulk commodities. This City of London based organisation is a recognised participant in global metals markets, providing trading, hedging, financing and risk management solutions to producers, consumers and institutional counterparties worldwide.
Description
Conduct detailed credit analysis on existing and prospective counterparties operating within the precious and base metals sectors.
Prepare and manage new credit applications, annual reviews and internal credit rating assessments.
Monitor and report credit exposures across trading portfolios, ensuring activity remains within approved limits.
Perform ongoing counterparty due diligence and financial analysis to identify changes in credit quality and emerging risks.
Develop strong working relationships with the finance, treasury and risk teams of counterparties.
Work closely with metals traders to assess counterparty risk and support commercial opportunities.
Provide risk-based recommendations that balance business growth with prudent risk management.
Support monitoring of market risks associated with precious and base metals trading activities.
Analyse market developments and their potential impact on counterparties and trading exposures.
Produce regular credit exposure and risk reports for management.
Assist in the review and enhancement of risk policies, controls and governance frameworks.
Support automation and process improvement initiatives to increase efficiency and reporting accuracy.
Profile
Credit risk analysis experience gained within a commodity trading house, metals merchant, bank or financial institution.
Experience assessing corporate and institutional counterparties.
Demonstrable credit risk experience covering the precious and/or base metals commodities sector is essential.
Understanding of physical commodity trading environments and associated risks.
Market risk exposure would be desirable.
Job Offer
Salary ranging from £60,000 to £70,000 per annum.
