An established, growing organisation based in Birmingham City Centre is looking to strengthen its Finance function with the appointment of an experienced and proactive Credit Manager. This is an outstanding opportunity for an ambitious credit professional to join a successful and continually growing business where you will take full ownership of the credit control function and play a key role in driving cash flow, reducing aged debt, and supporting the wider financial performance of the organisation.
Working as part of a collaborative and supportive finance team, you will be responsible for overseeing the end-to-end credit control operation, ensuring outstanding debt is collected efficiently while maintaining exceptional customer relationships. Managing a high-volume and often complex ledger, you will lead by example by implementing best practice processes, monitoring team performance, setting and reviewing KPIs, and ensuring credit policies are consistently adhered to. You will work closely with stakeholders to resolve account queries, minimise financial risk, and identify opportunities to improve existing procedures. This is a hands-on leadership role that combines strategic oversight with day-to-day operational involvement, making it ideal for someone who enjoys leading from the front and making a genuine impact within the business.
Skills and Experience Required
Previous experience working as a Credit Manager, Senior Credit Controller, Accounts Receivable Manager, ideally gained within a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
A proven track record of managing customer accounts, reducing aged debt, improving cash flow performance, and consistently achieving collection targets and departmental KPIs.
Previous experience supervising, mentoring, or managing a credit control team.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the confidence to build lasting relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
A proactive and solutions-focused approach, with the ability to identify issues before they arise, implement improvements, and contribute positively to the continued success of the finance department.
