Retainer: £2000 per month guaranteed, rising to £3,000 as your customer base grows

Commission: Genuinely uncapped. OTE £120,000+ a year

InXpress Southampton is looking for a Business Development Manager to work with us on a self employed basis, growing our UK client base. This is a remote, full cycle sales role with a guaranteed monthly retainer from day one, genuinely uncapped commission and an operations team behind you that handles quoting, onboarding and account care so you can stay focused on selling.

The engagement suits an experienced salesperson who wants the earning ceiling removed and the freedom to run their own diary, rather than a salaried seat.

The Role

You will identify new business opportunities, generate qualified leads and convert prospects into long term clients. You will own the full sales cycle, from first contact through to close and handover, and you will build a book of business that pays you for as long as those accounts keep shipping.

The role is worked remotely and you decide how to structure your day around client availability. You will need a professional home working setup, reliable broadband and your own laptop and phone.

Key Responsibilities

Identify, qualify and develop new business opportunities across targeted UK markets.

Engage prospects through calls, email and video meetings, plus face to face meetings on an ad hoc basis.

Deliver persuasive proposals and presentations tailored to each client.

Negotiate and close deals that work commercially for both sides.

Work with operations to confirm feasibility, accurate quotations and service commitments.

Track market trends in international shipping, freight rates and competitor activity.

Collaborate with internal teams on smooth onboarding and ongoing client satisfaction.

Keep accurate records of sales activity and manage your pipeline in the CRM.

Meet or exceed monthly and quarterly sales targets.

What We Are Looking For

A track record in B2B sales, new business or account management.

Confident negotiation skills and a consultative approach to selling.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Self motivated and comfortable working independently as part of a remote team.

Confident using CRM software and everyday sales productivity tools.

Strong commercial judgement, attention to detail and a problem solving mindset.

Resilient, target driven and comfortable in a fast moving environment.

Eligible to work in the UK and able to operate on a self employed basis, either as a sole trader or through your own limited company.

Desirable

Experience in logistics, shipping, freight forwarding or express parcel.

Experience selling B2B solutions into international markets.

Working knowledge of Outlook and Excel.

What We Offer

A guaranteed monthly retainer of £2000 from day one, paid against invoice. As the customer base you build through new sales grows, your retainer rises to a maximum of £3,000 per month.

Genuinely uncapped commission paid on top of the retainer throughout. Established performers target £10,000 a month, an OTE of £120,000+ a year. The target is not the ceiling.

Residual earnings. You continue to earn from the accounts you win for as long as they keep shipping with us.

You will be trained and mentored directly by top performing InXpress business development managers, some of the strongest sales people in the global franchise.
