We're recruiting for an exciting Assistant Management Accountant opportunity with a growing and forward-thinking business based in Bootle. This is the perfect role for someone with a strong grounding in transactional finance who is now eager to build their exposure to management accounts and progress towards a more senior finance position.

Working closely with a highly supportive Financial Controller, you'll be given the mentorship, training and hands-on experience needed to develop into a future key member of the finance team. This role is viewed as part of the company's long-term succession planning, making it an excellent opportunity for an ambitious finance professional looking for genuine career progression.

The Role

As Assistant Management Accountant, you'll play a key role in supporting the day-to-day finance function while gradually taking on more responsibility around month-end and management reporting.

Responsibilities will include

Assisting with preparation of monthly management accounts

Balance sheet reconciliations

Accruals and prepayments

Supporting budgeting and forecasting processes

Maintaining purchase and sales ledger activities

Bank reconciliations and cash flow support

Assisting with VAT returns

Producing financial reports and analysis for senior management

Supporting process improvements across the finance function

About You

We're looking for someone who

Has at least 2 years' experience within an accounts/finance function

Possesses a solid understanding of transactional finance processes

Is keen to develop management accounting skills

Is studying towards AAT, ACCA or CIMA, or interested in beginning studies

Has strong attention to detail and a proactive attitude

Enjoys working collaboratively within a supportive team environment
