Assistant Management Accountant

Assistant Management Accountant £35-40,000 | Full time, permenant | Wigan

Accountable Recruitment are working with a well-established, growing organisation to recruit an Assistant Management Accountant to join their finance team.

With operations spanning multiple locations this business provides a great opportunity to gain wide-ranging exposure in a fast-paced, commercially focused environment.

Working closely with the finance team, you will support the day-to-day running of the finance function, oversee transactional processes, and contribute to accurate and timely financial reporting. The Role This is a varied position offering hands-on involvement across both operational and management accounting activities.

Key duties will include

Supporting the business with the smooth running of the finance function

Supervising and providing guidance to members of the accounts team

Assisting with the production of monthly management accounts

Preparing balance sheet reconciliations and investigating variances

Reconciling asset profitability between operational records and financial reporting

Maintaining accurate fixed asset/stock records and supporting periodic stock checks

Preparing payroll data for submission to an outsourced provider

Completing VAT returns

Supporting cashbook processes, including payments and receipts

Managing and reconciling creditor balances

Identifying opportunities to enhance processes, controls, and efficiencies

About You

Previous experience in a similar management accounts or finance role

Highly organised with strong attention to detail

Confident user of Excel

Experience with finance systems

Comfortable working independently and as part of a team

Proactive, resilient, and solutions-oriented mindset

Strong communication skills with a positive, can-do approach
