Assistant Accountant - FMCG Salary: Up to £165 per day Contract: 12-Month Fixed-Term Contract Location: Hybrid/Flexible Start Date: Immediate Assistant Accountant - 12-Month Contract We are currently recruiting for an Assistant Accountant to join a growing FMCG business on a 12-month contract. This is an excellent opportunity for a finance professional who is immediately available and looking to gain experience within a fast-paced, dynamic commercial environment.
Working closely with the Finance Manager, you will support the month-end process, financial reporting, reconciliations, and day-to-day finance operations. The ideal candidate will have previous experience within an FMCG or high-volume environment and be confident managing multiple priorities and deadlines. Key Responsibilities
Assist with month-end and year-end finance processes
Prepare balance sheet reconciliations
Support management reporting and financial analysis
Maintain accruals and prepayments
Assist with budgeting and forecasting activities
Analyse financial data and investigate variances
Support accounts payable and accounts receivable functions as required
Help improve finance processes and controls
About You
Previous experience as an Assistant Accountant or in a similar finance role
Experience within FMCG, manufacturing, distribution, or another fast-paced environment preferred
Immediately available or available at short notice
Strong Excel skills
Excellent attention to detail and analytical skills
Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet deadlines
AAT qualified, studying towards ACCA/CIMA/ACA, or qualified by experience
