Assistant Accountant

Your new company A growing and ambitious SME based in Bath is seeking a proactive Assistant Accountant to join its finance team. This is an excellent opportunity for a part-qualified accountant or experienced accounts professional looking to broaden their responsibilities and develop their career within a fast-paced and supportive business environment.

Your new role

Assist with the preparation of monthly management accounts

Perform balance sheet reconciliations and investigate variances

Support month-end and year-end processes

Maintain the fixed asset register and accruals/prepayments schedules

Assist with budgeting and forecasting activities

Reconcile bank accounts

Maintain both accounts payable and accounts receivable functions

Prepare VAT returns and other statutory submissions

Produce financial analysis and reports for management

Assist with process improvements and finance projects

What you'll need to succeed ?

AAT qualified, qualified by experience or studying ACCA/CIMA/ACA

Previous experience in an Assistant Accountant or similar finance position

Strong Excel skills and confidence working with accounting systems

Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills

Capable of managing workloads and meeting deadlines

Positive attitude with a willingness to learn and develop

Experience within an SME environment would be advantageous
