Assistant Accountant

HW Finance are pleased to partner with a long standing client to recruit a commercially focused Assistant Accountant to support the financial performance of the business.

In this role you will provide essential support across the day-to-day financial operations of the division.

This is a varied role offering exposure to KPI reporting, transactional accounting and month end processes. Key Responsibilities

Support the Accountant and Finance Manager with the day-to-day financial management of the division.

Analyse financial performance and identify key trends and variances.

Maintain the accuracy and integrity of transactional accounting records.

Assist with month-end close and reporting processes.

Investigate financial discrepancies and ensure issues are resolved promptly.

Provide accurate financial information and analysis to support commercial decision-making.

Work collaboratively with wider finance teams across the business.

Ensure accounting processes and controls are consistently followed.

About You

We are looking for someone with a strong grounding in accounting in a mid-large sized business who is comfortable working in a fast-paced, commercially focused environment.

You will ideally have

Excellent attention to detail and a high level of numerical accuracy.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Advanced Excel skills.

Studying towards a professional accounting qualification

A proactive, forward-thinking approach and the confidence to take ownership of your work.

Strong communication skills and the ability to build effective relationships with stakeholders.

You'll be primarily based from home, with the expectation to be in the Leeds or Sheffield office 1 day a week (although you can be based in the office more if you wish).
