AAT Assistant Accountant FTC

The Assistant Accountant will play a key role in supporting the day-to-day financial operations and reporting activities within the retail sector. Based in Leeds, this 12-month fixed-term contract offers the chance to contribute to the smooth running of the company's accounting and finance functions.

Description

Assist in preparing monthly management accounts, including variance analysis.

Support the budgeting and forecasting processes.

Reconcile balance sheets and maintain accurate financial records.

Prepare and submit VAT returns and other compliance documentation.

Provide financial insights and data to support decision-making processes.

Collaborate with internal teams to ensure smooth financial operations.

Assist in year-end audit preparations and liaise with external auditors.

Handle ad hoc financial reporting tasks as required.

Profile

A successful Assistant Accountant should have

Experience in a similar accounting or finance role, ideally within the retail industry.

Strong knowledge of management accounting principles and practices.

Proficiency in using accounting software and Excel for financial analysis.

Attention to detail and a methodical approach to tasks.

Good communication and collaboration skills.

Ability to manage deadlines and prioritise workloads effectively.

Job Offer

Salary between £35,000 and £37,000, dependent on the level of experience.

12-month fixed-term contract.
