We're looking for a reliable and organised Temporary Accounts Assistant to provide cover within our finance team in our Liverpool HQ. The role will support the day-to-day running of the purchase and sales ledgers, assist with month-end processes, and provide general administrative support to the business.
Key Responsibilities
Purchase Ledger ? Process weekly purchase invoices and post them accurately to Sage. ? Prepare and distribute weekly creditors reports. ? Reconcile supplier statements. ? Investigate and resolve invoice discrepancies. ? Chase missing invoices and maintain an accurate and tidy purchase ledger.
Sales Ledger ? Prepare, post and issue monthly sales invoices to venues and customers. ? Chase outstanding debts and manage debtor collections. ? Reconcile customer accounts and maintain an accurate sales ledger.
Reporting & Month-End ? Produce and distribute daily sales reports to the business. ? Post month-end prepayment journals. ? Review ticketing data and post direct cost journals for management reporting and analysis. ? Assist with month-end reconciliations and reporting activities.
General Administration ? Provide ad-hoc office and administrative support as required. ? Assist with finance-related projects and process improvements where appropriate.
Skills & Experience
Essential Experience ? Previous experience in an accounts, bookkeeping, or finance administration role. ? Good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, including spreadsheets, formulas and data analysis. ? Strong attention to detail and accuracy. ? Excellent organisational and time-management skills. ? Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
Desirable Experience ? AAT qualification (or studying towards AAT). ? Experience using Sage accounting software. ? Experience working with purchase and sales ledgers. ? Experience supporting month-end accounting processes.
Contract Details
? Full training provided on the job ? 4 day working week - Tuesday - Friday, with 3 days based in the Liverpool office Tuesday - Thursday ? Salary: £28,250 per annum (pro rata) ? Contract: Fixed-term, 3 months ? Post is available from 01/08/2026 - 31/10/2026
