Howdens is looking for a Warehouse Group Leader to join our Runcorn Site in Cheshire. As a FTSE 100 business undergoing an exciting period of growth and transformation, this is a fantastic opportunity to play a key role within our warehouse operation.
Reporting to the Shift Manager, you'll lead and motivate a team of operatives to achieve business goals while promoting a strong safety culture and high-performance working environment.

Morning Shift (Monday–Friday, 06:00–14:00), Afternoon Shift (Monday–Friday, 14:00–22:00) and Night Shift (Sunday–Thursday, 22:00–06:00).
Reporting To | Shift Manager
Lead, motivate and develop your team, providing exceptional first-line management
Monitor, evaluate and give feedback on the performance of team members on daily/weekly basis
Oversee receipt, storage, picking and loading processes in line with daily targets to ensure correct operating procedures and processes are followed
Identify and report all operational problems and suggest solutions or changes
Develop and mentor Group Leader Stand-ins to ensure Howdens has a fully enabled, supported and multi-skilled workforce
Plan and organise adequate resource to ensure effective operation such as daily rotas and holiday planning
Ensuring all aspects of Health and Safety are followed across site
What do you need to qualify for this role?
Ideally, you will have at least 2 years' experience in a warehouse leadership role.
CIEH Level 3 Health and Safety qualification (desirable)
NVQ Level 2 in Warehousing (desirable)
Experience using Warehouse Management Systems and Labour Management Systems
Strong problem-solving skills
Excellent communication and listening skills
