We are recruiting for a Trainee Mechanical Engineer to join a specialist engineering organisation operating within the wastewater and renewable energy sectors. The Role
Working as part of an experienced engineering team, you will receive structured training and mentorship while supporting a variety of engineering projects. This role offers exposure to mechanical design, technical documentation, equipment inspections, and project support activities.
Key Responsibilities
Assist with the design and specification of mechanical components, including bearing assemblies, guards, lubrication systems, and related equipment.
Produce and update engineering drawings using AutoCAD or similar CAD software.
Support the preparation of equipment layouts and lifting arrangements.
Assist with inspections and technical assessments of mechanical equipment.
Compile technical reports and project documentation.
Obtain supplier quotations for repairs, refurbishment activities, and replacement parts.
Support material ordering and project administration activities.
Develop an understanding of engineering standards, health & safety requirements, and quality procedures.
Contribute ideas to improve processes and ways of working.
About You
Studying towards, or recently completed, a T Level, Apprenticeship, BTEC Level 3, or equivalent qualification in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related discipline.
Passionate about engineering, design, and manufacturing.
Experience of AutoCAD or similar CAD software would be advantageous.
Eager to learn and develop technical skills.
Strong attention to detail and problem-solving ability.
Effective communication and teamwork skills.
Organised with good time-management skills.
Positive attitude and a desire to build a long-term career in engineering.
