Job Description

This is an opportunity for a Trainee Accountant to join a leading mid-tier firm of Chartered Accountants based in Central London.

The role would be suited to someone with 6-12 months experience in accountancy, seeking to find an opportunity at a larger firm, whereby study support and training will be provided towards your AAT/ ACCA.

The role will see you working alongside clients in the creative/ entertainment industries, namely Theatre Clients.

Day-to-day of the role

Input and process invoices, reconcile bank accounts and petty cash receipts.

Prepare journal entries and basic management accounts, including comparing actual spend to budget and investigating variances.

Assist Seniors with analysis and preparatory work for tax and accounting tasks.

Communicate effectively with the team to ensure client and Partner expectations are met regarding delivery and accuracy of work.

Liaise with clients to progress jobs and manage own time effectively to meet deadlines.

Start to build an understanding of the firm's methodology, professional ethics, and standards.

Contribute to team and firm-wide initiatives, and assist with the induction and training of new team members.

Support marketing initiatives and engage positively with the business, advocating the firm’s values.

Required Skills & Qualifications

A basic knowledge of tax and an understanding of the principles of personal tax rules and PAYE.

Ability to work towards preparing sole trader, partnership, and corporate accounts.

Strong organizational skills to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.

Excellent communication skills and the ability to build rapport with peers and clients.

Commitment to continuous learning and professional development.

Studying towards or willing to start professional qualifications in accounting or finance.
