About The Role
FDM is a global business and technology consultancy seeking a Trade Operations Analyst to work for our client within the Banking sector. This is initially a 12 month contract with the potential to extend and will be a hybrid role that will be based in London.
We are supporting a global financial services organisation in the search for a Trade Operations Analyst to join a high-performing Margins-focused operations team. The role offers exposure to complex products and high-value cash movements within a fast-paced institutional environment.
The team supports margin and collateral activities across multiple asset classes, with a particular focus on OTC derivatives and exchange-traded futures.
This opportunity is well suited to junior candidates with a strong academic foundation in finance or risk, who are eager to build hands-on experience within a critical control function.
Responsibilities
Support daily trade operations activities within a margins and collateral function
Process and monitor margin calls, settlements, and related cash movements
Provide operational support across OTC derivatives and futures products
Liaise with internal teams including risk, trading, and wider operations
Investigate and resolve breaks, exceptions, and time-critical issues
Ensure activities align with operational controls, procedures, and regulatory expectations
Operate effectively in a high-volume, deadline-driven environment
About You
Degree in Finance, Economics, Mathematics, Risk, or a related discipline
Exposure to risk, operations, or financial markets (academic or professional)
Basic understanding of derivatives, margining, or collateral concepts
Demonstrated ability to remain calm, accurate, and resilient under pressure
Strong numerical skills and attention to detail
Clear communicator with a proactive and collaborative approach
