Job Description

Tax & Reporting ManagerSenior Finance | Scotland | Competitive + 10% Bonus + Benefits

Iconic Resourcing is exclusively partnering with a leading international services group to appoint a Tax & Reporting Manager into their UK finance leadership team. This is a rare opportunity to step into a high impact, senior technical role with genuine breadth - spanning UK and international tax, statutory reporting, and audit governance across a complex, multi entity group.

If you're a qualified tax or finance professional who thrives on ownership, wants more than just compliance work, and is ready to shape a function rather than simply maintain one, this role is worth a serious look.

The Role

Reporting directly to the Finance Director, you'll take full operational ownership of tax compliance and statutory reporting obligations across multiple jurisdictions, including the UK and Ireland. You'll be the primary point of contact for external advisers and auditors, and a key technical voice internally for finance teams across the group.

This isn't a role where you'll be reviewing someone else's work. You'll be driving the agenda - managing relationships, owning processes end-to-end, and bringing genuine rigour to a function that's growing in complexity and importance.

What You'll Be Doing

Managing UK corporation tax compliance across all group entities, including transfer pricing and group tax relief, in partnership with external advisers

Overseeing indirect tax obligations including VAT, CIS, and RCT, alongside employment taxes, plastic packaging tax, ESG reporting, and other statutory filings

Owning the Senior Accounting Officer (SAO) compliance framework - controls documentation, annual certification, and remediation of any identified weaknesses

Coordinating the preparation of annual statutory accounts under UK GAAP, managing external preparers and auditors to deliver on time and to a high standard

Acting as the primary operational contact for external auditors during year-end and interim audit cycles, owning the request list and resolving queries promptly

Monitoring changes in UK, Irish, and Nordic tax legislation and assessing the impact across the group, escalating material risks to the Finance Director

Providing technical guidance on tax and accounting matters to local finance teams

Contributing to the development of accounting policies and tax process documentation as the function continues to evolve

What We're Looking For

Essential

Qualified accountant or tax professional (ACA, ACCA, CTA or equivalent); CTA particularly welcome

Solid working knowledge of UK corporation tax compliance, including transfer pricing, group relief, and Pillar II awareness

Experience in a tax compliance or management role within a complex, multi-entity or group environment

Proven ability to manage external adviser and auditor relationships effectively

Familiarity with the SAO regime and the controls environment it requires

Strong understanding of statutory accounts preparation under UK GAAP / FRS 102

Comfortable managing multiple concurrent deadlines with strong attention to detail

Desirable

Experience in facilities management, infrastructure services, or a similarly contract-driven sector

Practical experience of VAT, CIS, and RCT compliance across multi-entity environments

Exposure to Nordic tax jurisdictions

Experience with ERP implementation or finance system change projects

Comfort operating through periods of growth and organisational change

Why This Role?

The business is at an interesting point in its development - growing, evolving, and investing in its finance function. This isn't a role where the answer to every question is already written down. You'll have the chance to genuinely shape how the tax and reporting function operates, build relationships that matter, and leave a mark on the organisation.

For the right person, this is exactly the kind of role that doesn't come up very often.

At Iconic Resourcing, we understand that not all candidates will meet every desired qualification or skill listed for the job positions posted on behalf of our clients. However, if you believe you can add value to the role despite having a slightly different experience from what we've identified, we would be thrilled to learn more about you.

Iconic Resourcing is committed to partnering with clients who share our values of inclusivity and diversity. We work with many businesses that recognise the importance of creating a welcoming and respectful workplace for all employees. As an equal opportunities employer, we treat all applications fairly and equally. We act as both an employment business and an employment agency and are happy to accommodate any reasonable adjustments required.
