Tax Analyst

A newly released Tax Analyst position has become available within the UK tax function of a major international business operating at the forefront of a critical and evolving sector. This is an exceptional opportunity for an ATT/AAT qualified professional, or someone currently studying, to gain exposure across corporate tax, VAT, employment taxes, customs and environmental taxes.

Description

Support the UK tax team across corporation tax, VAT, employment taxes, customs and environmental taxes.

Gather, process and analyse financial and tax data to support compliance obligations.

Assist with monthly, quarterly and annual tax reporting requirements.

Upload and maintain data within tax compliance software.

Support the preparation of corporation tax and indirect tax returns.

Identify tax-sensitive transactions and ensure appropriate tax treatment.

Reconcile tax payments and prepare payment requests for approval.

Assist with monitoring legislative developments and assessing the impact of tax law changes.

Support the implementation of new tax processes and controls.

Assist with the ongoing digitalisation and automation of tax processes.

Liaise with colleagues across finance, tax and the wider business.

Support administrative tax compliance activities and monitor key filing deadlines.

Profile

ATT or AAT qualified, or actively studying towards a recognised tax or accounting qualification.

Experience gained within an accountancy practice, tax consultancy or in-house tax team.

Exposure to UK corporation tax, VAT and/or employment taxes.

Strong analytical skills with excellent attention to detail.

Ability to communicate tax matters clearly within a commercial environment.

Demonstrable interest in developing a long-term career within taxation.

Enthusiastic, proactive and willing to take ownership of responsibilities.

Strong Excel skills and confidence working with financial data.

Interest in technology, automation and process improvement.

Experience with SAP, Thomson Reuters Onesource, Alteryx or Power BI would be advantageous but is not essential.
