Systems Accountant

We are seeking an experienced Senior Systems Accountant to lead the development, optimisation, and governance of a finance systems environment centred around NetSuite Financials and associated reporting tools.

Description

Reporting to the Head of Finance, you will

Lead the day-to-day administration, development, and optimisation of NetSuite Financials.

Act as the organisation's finance systems subject matter expert.

Drive finance systems improvements, automation, and digital transformation initiatives.

Lead systems projects from concept through to successful implementation.

Develop and maintain financial reporting, dashboards, and management information.

Ensure robust governance, financial controls, and data integrity across finance systems.

Monitor integrations and troubleshoot system issues.

Deliver training, guidance, and support to users across the organisation.

Supervise and develop a junior member of the finance team.

Collaborate with Finance, IT, operational teams, and external software providers to deliver continuous improvement.

Profile

Significant experience in a Systems Accountant or Finance Systems role.

Strong expertise in NetSuite or another ERP finance system.

Proven experience delivering finance systems enhancements and transformation projects.

Strong understanding of financial accounting, management accounting, and financial controls.

Experience improving processes, reporting, and system functionality.

Ideally experience within the charity, public sector, housing, healthcare, or not-for-profit sectors.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Excellent stakeholder management and communication abilities.

The confidence to influence and engage with both finance and non-finance colleagues.

A proactive approach to identifying and implementing improvements.

Strong project management and organisational skills.

A collaborative leadership style with experience supporting and developing others.

Job Offer

Salary ranging from £65,000 to £75,000, dependent on the level of experience.

Pension scheme included.

12 month Fixed-term contract opportunity in Birmingham.
