Job Description We are recruiting a Statutory Reporting Accountant for a key role within a growing and ambitious FTSE 250 business. This is a fantastic opportunity for an accounting professional to develop their experience in a listed environment.
The role will assist with the preparation of the annual and interim consolidated group accounts under IFRS, as well as the Group’s annual subsidiary accounts under UK GAAP (FRS 101).
What does the job involve?
Statutory accounts
Assist with the preparation of the annual and interim Group consolidated accounts under IFRS
Prepare the annual subsidiary financial statements under FRS 101
Act as key contact for the external auditors during with the interim review and annual audit process
Assist with the preparation of year-end papers for the auditors
Monitoring changes in accounting standards and advising on those changes and the potential impact on the Group
Preparation of month end technical accounting adjustments and supporting schedules
Maintain relationships with wider finance colleagues and act as a key contact for technical queries from across the business.
Assist with ad hoc project work as required by the business.
Candidates who are qualified ACA/ACCA with the following experience and skills will be of particular interest:
Financial reporting in a listed company and/or external audit
Planning, organisation, and time management skills with the ability to prioritise and work to tight deadlines
Good working knowledge of IFRS and FRS101
Good knowledge of measures used to assess company performance and ability to interpret financial statements
Strong IT skills including Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint and Word
Analytical and problem-solving skills
Fast learner who is adaptable and can work independently
Logical mindset; able to solve problems with an ‘eye for detail’
Flexible and highly motivated
Excellent verbal and written communication
