About the Role We are looking for an experienced Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) Security Engineer to join a major client programme on a long-term contract through to March 2027. This is a primarily remote opportunity, although candidates must be willing and able to travel to client offices when required.
The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring the reliability, security, and resilience of critical platforms and services, working closely with engineering, operations, and security teams. Key Responsibilities
Design, implement, and maintain secure, resilient, and highly available platforms.
Embed security best practices within SRE and DevOps processes.
Monitor system performance, availability, and security posture across environments.
Automate operational and security controls using Infrastructure as Code and CI/CD pipelines.
Support incident management, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement activities.
Collaborate with stakeholders to implement security controls and compliance requirements.
Drive improvements in observability, monitoring, logging, and alerting.
Conduct vulnerability remediation and support security reviews and audits.
Essential Skills & Experience
Active SC Clearance (mandatory).
Proven experience in an SRE, DevSecOps, Platform Security, or Security Engineering role.
Strong understanding of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
Experience with Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform.
Knowledge of containerisation and orchestration technologies, including Kubernetes.
Experience implementing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines.
Strong understanding of security principles, vulnerability management, and security monitoring.
Experience with monitoring and observability tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, Splunk, ELK, or similar.
Excellent troubleshooting and stakeholder engagement skills.
Desirable
Experience working within government, defence, or highly regulated environments.
Knowledge of Zero Trust principles and cloud security frameworks.
Relevant certifications such as AWS Security, Azure Security Engineer, CISSP, CISM, or Kubernetes certifications.
