As a SolidWorks Design Engineer, you will be responsible for designing and developing fabricated components, assemblies and manufacturing solutions using SolidWorks and CAD/CAM software. You will play a key role in supporting production processes, improving designs for manufacture, and ensuring projects are delivered efficiently and accurately.
Roles & Responsibilities
Create detailed 3D models, assemblies and manufacturing drawings using SolidWorks.
Develop CAD/CAM programs for CNC machining and fabrication processes.
Design sheet metal, welded and fabricated components and assemblies.
Produce accurate bills of materials (BOMs) and engineering documentation.
Liaise with fabrication, machining and production teams to ensure designs are manufacturable.
Support continuous improvement initiatives and design optimisation.
Conduct design reviews and resolve engineering issues during production.
Work closely with customers and internal stakeholders to understand project requirements.
Ensure compliance with relevant engineering standards and quality procedures.
Essential
Proven experience as a Design Engineer, Mechanical Design Engineer or similar.
Advanced proficiency in SolidWorks.
Strong CAD/CAM programming experience.
Knowledge of fabrication, welding and sheet metal manufacturing processes.
Experience producing detailed manufacturing drawings.
Understanding of CNC machining principles and manufacturing techniques.
Ability to interpret engineering specifications and technical requirements.
Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
HNC/HND or Degree qualified in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
