Reed Technology is supporting a company in Larbert to recruit a Service Desk Technician on a 12-month Fixed Term Contract.
In this role, you'll provide first and second-line IT support across a diverse technology environment, troubleshooting user issues, administering Microsoft technologies and devices, managing user accounts, and supporting technology deployments, service improvements, and project work.
Provide day-to-day IT support to employees across the business.
Resolve issues relating to laptops, desktops, mobile devices, software, and user accounts.
Set up, configure, and maintain Windows devices and business applications.
Support Microsoft 365, Active Directory, and Entra ID environments.
Manage new starter, leaver, and internal employee change requests.
Assist with device deployments, upgrades, and replacement programmes.
Troubleshoot connectivity issues including VPN, Wi-Fi, and network access problems.
Log, update, and manage support tickets, ensuring excellent customer service throughout.
Keep IT documentation, asset records, and knowledge articles up to date.
Work closely with the wider IT team to escalate and resolve more complex issues.
Take ownership of tasks and be a self-starter who can work independently when required.
Identify ways to improve processes, increase efficiency, and enhance the overall user experience.
Skills and Experience
Experience providing IT support in a Service Desk, Helpdesk, or Desktop Support environment.
Good knowledge of Windows 11, Microsoft 365, Active Directory, and Entra ID.
Experience setting up and supporting laptops, desktops, mobile devices, and peripherals.
Ability to troubleshoot a wide range of hardware, software, and user issues.
Understanding of VPN, DNS, DHCP, wireless networking, and general connectivity troubleshooting.
Strong customer service and communication skills.
Able to manage workload effectively and prioritise competing tasks.
A proactive approach with a willingness to take ownership and see issues through to resolution.
Self-motivated, organised, and capable of working both independently and as part of a team.
A continuous improvement mindset, always looking for opportunities to improve IT services and processes.
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
What's on offer?
Salary of up to £33,000.
12-month fixed-term contract.
Primarily office-based role, working on-site Monday to Thursday.
Hybrid working on Fridays, with a half-day schedule and a 12:30pm finish.
