Server Platform Engineer

Salary :£50,000 - £59,000
Our client is a managed services provider delivering cybersecurity, communications and connectivity solutions across the UK. They are looking for a Server Platform Engineer to join their team on a permanent basis.
The role
You'll be a technical SME responsible for delivering proactive managed services across private and public cloud infrastructure, keeping client systems secure and running optimally. You'll own 3rd/4th line incidents and problems, and contribute to project delivery for clients and internally.
Key responsibilities
Proactively monitor client IT estates and maintain solutions through continuous deployment
Act as a trusted technical advisor, delivering improvements across hybrid, private and public cloud environments
Own escalated incidents and problem resolution
Implement DR and backup strategies
Take part in the on-call rota
Liaise with third-party vendors and mentor colleagues
What you'll need
Strong hypervisor experience (VMware, Hyper-V, Proxmox, HPE VME)
Solid Microsoft stack knowledge (Windows Server, AD, SQL, networking)
Strong Azure experience
PowerShell/Ansible automation skills
SAN experience (3PAR, Dell Unity, HP MSA)
Networking experience (Cisco ASAv, Fortigate, Juniper)
DR technology experience
SC clearance eligibility (required)
