Affirm is looking for a Senior Software Engineer for our Cloud Compute team to play a pivotal role in ensuring the robust and scalable foundation of our entire platform. As a fully remote team based in Spain, we are the engine room that manages all of Affirm's Kubernetes clusters. Our mission is to provide a highly reliable and available cloud environment that empowers all of Affirm's engineering teams to build and deploy innovative solutions seamlessly.

We are a tight-knit, collaborative group passionate about automation and implementing best-in-class practices. You'll be instrumental in driving initiatives to enhance our observability capabilities, fortify the reliability of our critical infrastructure, and automate key operational workflows. This role offers a unique opportunity to shape the future of Affirm's cloud infrastructure, work with cutting-edge technologies, and have a significant impact on the stability and efficiency of our entire engineering organization. What You'll Do

You will be responsible for executing on the technical strategy for your team on a year-long time scale, and help your team tie it together with critical, business-impacting projects.

You will collaborate across teams in the product development lifecycle by collaborating with product management, design & analytics to ensure technical sustainability, risks and trade-offs are well understood and managed.

You will act as a force-multiplier for your team through your definition and advocacy of technical solutions and operational processes.

You take ownership of your team’s operations and availability by ensuring you have the right monitoring, triage rotation
